This is the Funk’s take on a classic cocktail, the Salty Dog. Refreshing, and great for when ya wanna cool down on a lazy river, or celebrate from conquering some rapids. So named for that dangerous area where the ocean meets freshwater, which is home to bull sharks, gators and crocs (the critters, not the shoes), and it’s just fun to say, “brackish.” This libation is fun to drink too, and easy to make. It travels well, and it’s been tested in canoes, kayaks, tubes and lifejackets, too. Gin, grapefruit, salt and sugar come together like warm sunshine, cool water, some free time and the right people to spend it all with. Best served in a workout-style bottle with a lid and a loop to tie it to your flotation device.

When you’re headed out to make some memories, you need some energy, especially when there is water and sun involved. You might be fishin’ with grandpa, taking a canoe trip with the girls, or creating a flotilla to float all your troubles away, but this is the perfect easy-to-eat and fire-you-up snack to have on the go. We’ve got cinnamon to warm you up (these go great with coffee), dates, coconut and maple syrup for some sweetness, and oats and almond butter to give you the energy and protein you need to go hard on some tough areas, or give you the energy to slow burn down a lazy river. These are great to make at home and have for a snack during the week before work or school, too.

A little snack goes far for us, and we love to have something to pop in our mouth real quick while floating, and we also wanna have some life preservers pretty handy too. A salty flavored snack really goes well with a great drink (or a beer), and can hit the spot. Super easy to make, and another easy fun snack to have on hand, for school and all of the things you want. Crunchy, salty, flavor, all of it, but it really makes one of the most underutilized spices in our cupboards shine - ranch seasoning! It’s not just for dips, though. It is super handy when you’re about to take a dip in the river or in a pool. Give yourself a little help and some extra time to prep for other areas and make this quick-to-party party snack (and you know we’re quick to party).

We love to have a monster time, and grew up with them giant Kaiju, like Godzilla… We lived right down the street from him and his sister, Godesszilla. Nah, just playing, we grew up watchin’ ‘em and loving ‘em. You know the funk squad likes to get a little crazy sometimes, and this fish is cray (though it isn’t actually a fish, it’s a crustacean, but we love the name anyways). When you’re doing high adventure, or just chillin’, a cold sammy that travels well really can take you places, if you take ‘em along, that is. If you picture the classic New England style lobster roll, this is more of a Japanese-inspired version, using the fancy lobster’s cool, punk rock cousin, the crawfish. With bacon, and a sweet, tangy dressing, it captures the feeling of a chill day floating down the river or a celebratory sandwich from a big paddle. If you can’t get your claws on any crawfish, you can use shrimp, langostinos or crab, or save some budget by using imitation crab, too. No shame in that. Be proud of your sandwich game, and it starts here.
